Disinformation, Datinformation

We live in an age when people know so much, yet comprehend so little. They can Google anything but are easily swayed by culture and leaders to follow the fallacies of the world rather than the truth of our Lord. The apostle Paul warns us in the last days, “there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, (2 Tim 3:1b-4 ESV).  Sound remarkably like today?

Daniel prophesies in this time of increased knowledge many will run to and fro, here and there, on one side and then the other. People will seek truth yet not find it, searching the wrong sources, erroneously believing in the wisdom of man rather than of God. And some will speak lies as fact, convinced by the enemy to follow his path of self-veneration and pride.

As Christians, we cannot be dupped by demonic drivel spewed by media and leaders. Our authority is the foundational certainty of scripture applied with the gift of discernment. The enemy seeks to confuse and divide. God seeks to gather us to His bosom with love and understanding.

When you hear evil news tempting wicked thoughts, replace offensive disinformation with divine inspirations of love, peace, wisdom. The increased knowledge prophesied by Daniel pertains to an increased understanding of God’s perfect purpose unfolding. And His purpose is you, His greatest creation.

Lord, thank you for the gift of discernment so we may try the spirits to know if words are from You or from the enemy. We ask You to dispatch Your angels as a hedge of protection around our minds no falsehood can penetrate. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
